Project Overview

The Challenge

Our fabrication team was approached by Ingleton Wood LLP, a leading multi-disciplinary practice known for delivering practical design solutions for residential and workplace communities. The project involved a site in Norwich, where they required a full survey and design proposal for a new emergency exit staircase at the building's rear elevation.

The challenge was to deliver a staircase solution that was structurally sound, fully compliant with safety regulations, and tailored to the clients design vision.

Our Approach

From the outset, the project demanded close collaboration. Our Fabrication Project Manager, Arron Morgan, worked directly with Ingleton Wood’s design team to translate their vision into reality.

This included:

- A full site survey to capture key structural data

- Producing detailed CAD drawings of the staircase design

- Multiple rounds of revisions, ensuring the design aligned with both regulatory requirements and the clients preferences.

Once the final design was approved, the project moved seamlessly into our in-house fabrication workshop. Our skilled team fabricated the staircase components with precision, and all elements underwent galvanisation to enhance durability and weather resistance. A stringent quality assurance process ensured compliance and performance standards were exceeded.

The installation phase required a 10 day on-site crane operation, which was coordinated safely by our team to lift and install the staircase without disrupting the site. The staircase was installed on schedule, meeting all safety and design specifications.
