Smart CI Group were engaged to deliver the design and construction of a new lorry park facility. Acting as Principal Contractor, we managed the project from development concept through to final certification, providing a full turnkey solution that incorporated planning, civil engineering, and electrical infrastructure.

Scope of Works

Design & Planning

  • Completed structural slab design, bay layouts, drainage, and logistics planning.
  • Submitted planning applications and liaised with the local planning officer for approvals.
  • Coordinated with an independent Building Control Officer (BCO) for the entire development.
  • Undertook ground investigation works to assess site conditions.
  • Delivered structural design services for civil engineering and building elements.

Compliance & Management

  • Acted as Principal Contractor, arranging F10 notification in line with CDM Regulations.
  • Provided full-time SMSTS qualified site management throughout construction.
  • Commissioned third-party external H&S auditing on behalf of the client.
  • Secured building control and structural certification on project completion.

Full Turnkey Project Delivery

  • Site setup & welfare facilities, including security, signage, and compliant waste management.
  • R&D asbestos surveys to ensure safety prior to works.
  • Excavation of existing slab and sub-base in preparation for redevelopment.
  • Complete civils and groundworks package to form new lorry park infrastructure.
  • Electrical package, including street and yard lighting to improve safety and site operations.
