Project Overview

Our client required a certified passive fire engineer to complete a package of fire stopping works across several key areas of their facility. The objective was to restore the integrity of fire-rated walls and floors, ensuring compliance with fire safety regulations while minimising disruption to daily operations.

Scope of Works

Over the course of one week, our approved passive fire engineer carried out the following:

  • 75 x penetrated holes repaired within a 30-minute fire-rated wall.
  • 1 x penetrated hole repaired within a 60-minute fire-rated wall.
  • 2 x cable penetrations sealed within the Welfare Block LV Room.
  • Installation of fire batt and fire sealant to fire stop a major cable opening (approx. 1.0m wide x 0.9m high) in the LV room floor.

All materials and sundries required to complete the works were supplied as part of the project.

Each penetration was sealed to the correct fire resistance rating, restoring compartmentation and maintaining compliance with relevant fire safety standards.

The project was delivered on time and within scope, ensuring that the facility maintained its fire-resistant integrity. By repairing and sealing all identified penetrations, the risk of fire and smoke spread between compartments was significantly reduced.
